Due to Mec-Servs continued growth our incumbent IT supplier could no longer cope with the IT demands placed upon our business with the driving force being the need for our field staff to access our systems remotely. We looked around for an established IT company with a good reputation to help us and selected Impact IT who have more than lived up to their name by creating a huge Impact on our business. Not only did they listen to my specific requirements about our IT needs, they also solved some long outstanding issues and enabled our remote workers / field staff to access our systems in a live environment. As a result of Impact’s involvement we have now seen an increase in efficiency which has allowed us to deliver to our customers what they need. Following an in depth tender process involving various providers and proposals, Liaison Technology Ltd awarded IMPACT IT a 3-year contract to become our support desk and vendor manager. As our Vendor Manager, IMPACT are responsible for managing and supporting the entire IT operations across the business which includes looking after 3 offices in Worcester, London and Derby and all our remote workers, in total over 200 staff and 60 servers (physical and virtual). In addition to the server and desktop support, they are our single point of contact for all IT related queries, escalating to third parties and managing all tickets as needed.
IMPACT manage our entire server estate which is currently located in two third party providers Nasstar and Azure. They also supply, install and support all desktops, laptops and mobile equipment. We work closely with the IMPACT software development team to create bespoke software and web applications to further enhance our business and operations. We have completed the first year of our three year contract and whilst there have of course been challenges on both sides, we have worked together to overcome these and continue to improve how we work together for mutual benefit. This remains a sound and effective operating model for us and I am pleased that the support we get from the IMPACT team continues to be fast, efficient and effective. I look forward to working closely with them over the remaining two years of the contract and fully expect to be extending this.
